Born on May 14, 1946 in Stryy, Lviv region, Ukraine.
Savula Yarema Hryhorovych graduated from the Faculty of
Mathematics & Mechanics of Lviv State University named
after Ivan Franko and completed the post-graduate course of the said University at the Chair of Applied Mathematics
under supervision of professor Fleishman N.P. In 1973 depended Ph.D. dissertation in Mathematics & Mechanics.
Took up long-term probation courses at the Faculty of Calculus Mathematics & Cybernetics at the Moscow State
University named after M.V. Lomonosov in 1976 and at the Technical University in Brno (former Chechosloakia)
in 1977-1978.
Since 1972 after the completion of the post-graduate course has been
working at the Chair of Applied Mathematics
of the Lviv National University named after Ivan Franko. In 1986 he acquired a Doctor’s Degree at the Kazan State
University after M.Lobachevsky (Russia); the title of dissertation: “Mechanical Problems of Complex Geometry
Shell Deformations”.
From 1986 – the Head of the Chair of Applied Mathematics and from 1996 – till present combines the above-mentioned
position with that of the dean of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics & Informatics.
Conducts investigation in 1) Application of Numerical Methods and
Programming for Mathematical Model Analysis, particularly, in Pollution Transfer and in Mechanics of Deformated
Solid; 2) Numerical Analysis of Models Including Elements of Controlling; 3) Development and investigation of
heterogeneous mathematical models.
He is the author 150 scientific articles and publish a book.
Supervised 10 candidates of sciences.
From 1993 he is an Academician of Higher School Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
